STEULER-KCH supplies vessels, equipment and special constructions for flue gas desulphurisation units used in coal-fired power stations. STEULER-KCH's materials are the preferred choice wherever highly corrosive media must be handled and where conventional metallic materials cannot deliver due to their insufficient resistance.
We design, manufacture and install components from glass fibre-reinforced plastics (GRP) with thermoplastic linings (KERAVERIN®) and from pure GRP (KERAPOLIN®). We primarily use polypropylene (PP) as a liner for the KERAVERIN® lining. It features high resistance to chemical attack and excellent abrasion resistance and is well able to withstand the stresses encountered in flue gas scrubbing units.
Naturally, we can also supply electrically conductive material systems suitable for use in areas subject to explosion hazards. Our components can be fabricated to be compliant with pressure equipment directives. We are also certified according to module H/H1.
The operating temperature range is between -50 °C and approximately 200 °C, depending on the composite material used. We're well equipped to handle large dimensions: we are able to fabricate vessels with a diameter of up to 5.5 m and up to 15 m in length/height.

Our particular strength lies in consultancy: we work together with our customers to select the combination of materials (liner, fibre reinforcement, resin matrix, etc.) best suited for the chemical, mechanical and thermal stresses to which they will be subjected in the plant and the plant’s geometry. We develop custom combinations of materials in close consultation with our customers in the power generation industry.
Our range of services includes a plausibility check regarding design and materials and project support to ensure smooth and timely implementation, even for complex projects. We're flexible: we can make revisions and customise the supplied components at any time – even following delivery. Our after-sales service gives our customers the opportunity to share their experiences of completed projects, to learn about current product developments and if desired, to have the installed products inspected and evaluated.
