STEULER-KCH is the expert when it comes to vessels, process equipment and customised engineering solutions made of glass fibre reinforced plastics for the non-ferrous metals industry. Our components are used wherever highly corrosive media must be handled, especially in processing and storage facilities, and where conventional metal materials are not sufficiently resistant.
STEULER-KCH's fibre-reinforced plastics are especially suitable for storage tanks for acids and alkalis. They are even able to reliably withstand the high stresses to which process engineering equipment used in leaching, clarification, gas scrubbing processes and acid production are subjected.
We design, manufacture and install vessels, equipment and special constructions made from glass fibre-reinforced plastics (GRP) with thermoplastic linings (KERAVERIN®) and from KERA®, a reinforced phenolic resin casting material. We primarily use the following thermoplastic materials as liners for the KERAVERIN® inner lining used in pickling plants:
- Polypropylene (PP)
- Unplasticised polyvinyl chloride (PVC-U)
- Post-chlorinated PVC (PVC-C)
- Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF)
- Ethylene chlorotrifluoroethylene (ECTFE)
Naturally, we can also supply electrically conductive material systems suitable for use in areas subject to explosion hazards. Our components can be fabricated to be compliant with pressure equipment directives. We are also certified according to module H/H1.
The operating temperature range is between -50 °C and approximately 200 °C, depending on the composite material used. We're well equipped to handle large dimensions: we are able to fabricate vessels with a diameter of up to 5.5 m and up to 15 m in length/height.
STEULER-KCH's experienced specialists are there to provide you with expert assistance, from the initial consultation through to final assembly – in Germany and around the world. Our particular strength lies in consultancy: we work together with our customers to select the combination of materials (liner, fibre reinforcement, resin matrix, etc.) best suited for the chemical, mechanical and thermal stresses to which they will be subjected in the plant and the plant’s geometry. We develop custom combinations of materials in close consultation with our customers from the non-ferrous metals industry.
Our range of services includes a plausibility check regarding design and materials, and project support to ensure smooth and timely implementation, even for complex projects. We're flexible: alteration and customisation of the supplied pipes is possible at any time – even following delivery. Our after-sales service gives our customers the opportunity to share their experiences of completed projects, to learn about current product developments and if desired, to have the installed products inspected and evaluated.
