Plastic Vessels and Equipment in the Electrical Industry

When it comes to the design, manufacture and installation of vessels, process equipment and customised engineering solutions: STEULER-KCH is an established partner of the semiconductor, electrical engineering and electronics industry. We manufacture high purity (HP) components from glass fibre-reinforced plastics (GRP) with thermoplastic linings (KERAVERIN®).

Vessels with the following liners are used for ultra pure chemicals, such as hydrochloric acid, hydrofluoric acid and phosphoric acid:

  • Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF)-HP
  • Perfluoroalkoxy alkanes (PFA)-HP
  • Modified polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE-M)-HP

For applications involving ultra pure water, we recommend using the following liner materials

  • PVDF-HP
  • Natural polypropylene (PP)
  • PVC plus

KERAPOLIN®, a pure GRP material with a chemical-resistant barrier, is the material of choice when handling wastewater.

We can, of course, also supply electrically conductive material systems for use in areas subject to explosion hazards or flame-retardant versions for areas with more stringent fire safety requirements. Our components can be fabricated to be compliant with pressure equipment directives. We are also certified according to module H/H1.

The operating temperature range is between -50 °C and approximately 200 °C, depending on the composite material used. We're well equipped to handle large dimensions: we are able to fabricate vessels with a diameter of up to 5.5 m and up to 15 m in length/height.

STEULER-KCH's experienced specialists are there to provide you with expert assistance, from the initial consultation through to final assembly – in Germany and around the world. Our particular strength lies in consultancy: we work together with our customers to select the combination of materials (liner, fibre reinforcement, resin matrix, etc.) best suited for the chemical, mechanical and thermal stresses to which they will be subjected in the plant and the plant’s geometry. We develop custom combinations of materials in close consultation with our customers from the electronics industry.

Our range of services includes a plausibility check regarding design and materials and project support to ensure smooth and timely implementation, even for complex projects. We're flexible: we can make revisions and customise the supplied components at any time – even following delivery. Our after-sales service gives our customers the opportunity to share their experiences of completed projects, to learn about current product developments and if desired, to have the installed products inspected and evaluated.
